Privacy Policy and Safety of Information
Trick Audio recognizes the
importance of privacy to our customers and internet site visitors.
This privacy policy explains exactly what type of information we
might ask you to provide when you visit this web site, and explain
what we promise to do and not to do with that information.
Personal Identification
Information
Trick Audio does not collect personally identifying information
from this web site unless you choose to provide that information
to us. We do ask that you provide some basic information to us so
that we can better serve your needs when you visit us. If you do
provide us with any information, this is what we do... and what
we will not do with it:
What we do:
- Trick does research on our
customers' demographics, interests, and opinions based on the
information provided to us upon registration, during a promotion,
from our server log files or from surveys
- Trick performs this analysis
to better understand and serve our customers. This research is
compiled and analyzed on an aggregated basis only.
- Trick may share this data
(on an aggregated, not personal basis) with our business partners.
- Any personal information
you provide to us remains within Trick and is used and seen only
by our employees.
- Our servers (host computers)
are maintained with the highest possible security to protect your
information. Credit card information is never kept on our servers
and personal information is kept in a form that can not be accessed
by the public.
What we will not do:
- It is the policy of Trick
Audio not to disclose any of your personally identifiable information
except when we have your permission or under special circumstances,
such as when we believe in good faith that the law requires it
- We do not sell or distribute
lists of names, addresses, email addresses or any other personal
information to anyone else. All of the information collected by
Trick is used for internal Trick purposes only and is not distributed
to other outside parties.
- We do NOT keep or email
your credit card information. All orders are handled using secure
encryption technology.
Data We Collect
Like all internet web servers, the Trick web server automatically
creates log files for each visitor who accesses our site. These
"access logs" allow us to make our site more useful to
our visitors. The access logs do NOT record a visitor's name, address,
telephone number, credit card numbers, or any other personal information.
The data that is collected includes some or all of the following:
- The Internet Protocol (IP)
Address of the machine that accessed our site.
- The date and time of the
visit to our site.
- The path taken through our
site.
- The browser software used
to access our site.
- A list of files downloaded
or viewed from the site.
- Any errors encountered.
Most Internet Service Providers
use a "dynamic" form of assigning IP Addresses. This means
that a visitor may have a different IP Address each time he or she
visits the Trick Audio site. Also, many Internet Service Providers,
including America Online, use "proxy servers" which provide
even more anonymity for visitors. For example, all visitors accessing
Trick's site through America Online will be recorded in our access
logs as having the same IP Address. We use "cookies" and
other methods of user tracking for the non-participatory sections
and for other password protected areas of the site.
Cookies and How They are
Used
No doubt you have heard a lot about the use of "cookies"
and most people think that they are intrinsically "bad"
or a security threat. In reality, cookies are simply a small amount
of data that is stored on your computer so that you can have a better
online experience each time you visit a specific web site. Generally,
we use cookies to:
- Verify your identity and
access your user permissions (stored on our secured computers)
in order to deliver to you a better, faster and more personalized
service.
- Estimate our audience size
and preferential patterns in order to better serve our visitors
and customers. Each browser accessing the Trick site is given
a unique cookie that is then used to determine the extent of repeat
usage based on user interests and preferences.
- Track your progress and
number of entries in some of our promotions and contests. When
a Trick-hosted promotion uses cookies, the information written
to the cookie indicates the user's progress through the promotion,
and may be used to track entries, submissions, and status. The
cookie may also be used to ensure that a single listener cannot
"stuff the ballot box", or vote multiple times in opinion
polls, etc. The cookie is returned to the server that issued it
only.
- Trick does ask visitors
to provide certain personal information when they purchase an
item or submit information or requests through an online form.
This information is gathered by Trick on a voluntary basis and
its use by Trick is limited to the following: content management,
editorial and feedback purposes, fulfillment commerce orders,
and for Trick's marketing and promotional purposes. By providing
this information, a visitor may receive an e-mail from Trick in
limited circumstances
- All visitors must be at
least 13 years old to qualify for purchasing product online. If
a visitor is under 13 years of age, they should not send any information
about themselves, including their name, address or e-mail address.
If we discover that we have collected any personal information
from a child under the age of 13, we will remove that information
from our database as soon as possible.
- All visitors between the
ages of 13 and 18 must obtain permission from their parents or
guardians before registering or ordering commerce items or otherwise
sending any personal information.
Personal Data Correction
or Removal Requests
Upon request to the Trick web master, Trick will permit you to:
- Correct or update any personal
information in the Trick database that you state is erroneous,
- Opt-out of future promotional
communications from Trick or
- Request Trick to make reasonable
efforts to remove your personal information from the Trick database,
thereby canceling your user permissions. The user understands
that it may be impossible to delete personal information entirely
because of backups and records of deletions.
Trick Audio reserves the right
to change this policy. Any changes to this policy will be posted
to this page as soon as reasonably possible, so please check this
page periodically. Use of the Trick Audio web site constitutes consent
to any policy then in effect.
If you have any questions or
comments concerning our privacy policy, please contact us via e-mail.
